In the UAE, there are very few hobby beekeepers as most are commercial honey farmers. Nevertheless, do not let this deter you.
While we may be few in number, we hobby beekeepers are keen and are happy to welcome other learners to our buzzing community. It is a very interesting, relaxing, and rewarding hobby.
You will never stop learning, and providing you grasp the basics, you can become involved as little or as much as you like.
We invite you to join the network of beekeepers from the only official beekeepers association in the UAE. The Beekeepers Association is a great forum to help you get started, find the best equipment, exchange know-how for the up-keeping, etc.

The Beekeepers Association is driven solely by volunteers. Join us, you will learn a lot about bees and beekeeping, meet a friendly bunch of people drawn from all corners of the UAE, and have fun too. Everyone has something to give, what is your special thing?
Do you want to help honeybees without getting your hands sticky? Show that you care, adopt a hive! We will deliver and maintain the hive at a location of your choice (provided it is safe of course) and you will decide how much you want to be involved.
The Beekeepers Foundation is proud to offer the “Novice Beekeepers Course”, at The Sustainable City. The course is conducted by a master beekeeper. The course is based on the British Beekeepers Association (BBKA) curriculum and tailored to the local environment. It includes a theory and a practice part. This course is perfect for those who have little to no beekeeping experience. At the end of this course you will be able to confidently handle bees and manage your own hive.
It is a lot of fun and you will certainly enjoy the spirit and the knowledge!
The course runs over 7 weeks, on Saturdays, and is suitable for adults and kids over 15.
The fee is AED 2,000, which includes 1 year membership.
